Honoring TCJ President Mac Heavener, Jr.

This May we had the privilege to recognize and honor President Mac Heavener, Jr. with an honorary degree.

In 1972, Mac and his wife, Ann, came to faith in Jesus Christ through the ministry of Trinity Baptist Church.

Shortly thereafter, Mac began serving as a deacon and, in 1974, became a founding Trustee of Trinity Baptist College. For more than five decades, he has faithfully served the church, including extensive involvement on its finance committee.

In 1989 Mac became Mac became a trusted advisor and mentor as I assumed more leadership at Trinity.

He played a key role in the 1997 sale of the college’s McDuff campus and its transition to the Hammond campus. In 2010, he was invited after prayerful discussion to serve as President of Trinity Baptist College. His tenure has been marked by strong enrollment growth, expanded academic programs, and the completion of significant campus development projects, including the Main Academic Building.

Prior to stepping into the role of President, Mac built a distinguished career in business with a focus on real estate.

A graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in Business Administration, he later earned a Master’s degree in Business Intelligence from Full Sail University and served in the United States Army National Guard. He founded a successful real estate company that grew into one of Florida’s largest firms and later held executive leadership roles with ERA Real Estate, helping expand the organization internationally.

Throughout his life, Mac has remained passionate about developing future leaders, equipping them with practical skills grounded in a Biblical worldview.

His love for the students and his passion to see them develop as servant leaders is evident in the way that he leads the college.

Together with his wife, Ann, and their family, Mac continues to invest in the next generation, leaving a lasting legacy of faithful service, visionary leadership, and unwavering devotion to Christ.
